On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we are delighted to invite you to participate the 15^th IWA World Conference on Anaerobic Digestion (AD-15) in Beijing, China, during October 17-20, 2017. This event is part of the IWA Anaerobic Digestion Specialist Group conference series, which are conceived as an international forum discussing state-of-art anaerobic bioprocesses.  
 
As we all understand that anaerobic technology is widely adopted as a cost-effective way to waste (water) treatment, and has currently transferred from sole waste (water) treatment to integrated measure of waste-to-resource recovery, e.g. carbon, nitrogen, phosphorous, sulfur, biogas, biofuels, etc. It can be expected that the demand of technical innovation for fossil energy substitution, nutrients circulation, and efficient wastes management would increase continuously due to the global carbon emission reduction pressure. This indicated that we are standing at the turning point of reframing the future anaerobic technology towards a more sustainable world. Therefore, in this conference, we will mainly target the most promising technologies that could significantly boost the development of AD globally, and will emphatically address cutting-edge and emerging technologies with high acceptability to industries during a three-day event.
 
It is so excited to see that China has become the world’s largest AD market. With the increasing awareness and support from our central governments and industries, both investment and implementation of anaerobic technologies in China are progressing faster than ever, leading the related market grow rapidly.Therefore, for AD-15, we anticipate a highly exciting event, where international researchers, practitioners, designers, public officials and industry representatives and decision makers will join together to exchange sparkling ideas on emerging challenges, trouble-shooting, and future demand in anaerobic technology. We also hope AD-15 conference will be an opportunity to highlight the AD roadmap with Chinese characteristics.
